Operations Specialist
POSITION OVERVIEW
Packerland Brokerage Services, a broker dealer servicing financial advisors, is seeking a bright and talented Operations Specialist to join our growing team. Key Accountabilities for the role will include the following:
- Field incoming requests from representatives regarding operations questions
- Work closely with the finance and operations department to create reports for internal and external customers and maintain records of vital business processes
- Act as a backup to the Commissions department by processing commissions and weekly commission runs for Packerland’s representatives
- Assist with accounts receivable and accounts payable for the company
- Maintain and update internal systems with regular maintenance and downloads of data
QUALIFICATIONS
Education
College degree preferred but not required in lieu of experience.
Experience
A minimum of one year working in an Office Operations environment
Accounts Receivable/Payable preferred, but not required
Commissions, Insurance, or securities background preferred, but not required
SKILLS
- Familiarity with navigating relational databases
- Imports and exports of data
- Proficient with basic functions in Excel, including Pivot Tables
- QuickBooks knowledge is a plus
- Operations experience is a plus

Compliance Specialist
POSITION OVERVIEW

Key Accountabilities for the role will include the following:
- Manage all intakes, reviews, and responses to customer complaints as well as related regulatory filings, and work with Attorneys when necessary
- Assist with the supervision and review of all types of communication and other vital surveillance reviews
- Work with attorneys and regulators to fill data requests, perform certain regulatory filings, and help ensure the Firm's books and records are current and accurate
- Assist with the coordination of the Firm's annual compliance training program and the execution of initial and ongoing training for new and current representatives
- Coordinate and administer the process of updating and maintaining the Firm's written supervisory procedures
- Manage, update, and maintain the Firm's branch inspection system and process as well as conduct inspections. (Limited travel may be required)
QUALIFICATIONS
Education
College degree preferred but not required in lieu of experience
Experience
A minimum of two years’ Securities or Banking industry experience, in a compliance capacity or similar
Licenses:
Securities license not required but a plus (possibility to get licensed in the future)
SKILLS
- Analytical and practical thinking, including the ability to interpret policies, procedures as well as identify problems, research, and analyze issues from different perspectives
- Excellent verbal and written communication, including speaking clearly and persuasively to individuals and groups as well as writing correspondence and reports in a clear, concise, logical, and grammatically correct manner
- Experience with reporting and audit coordination
- Excellent organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize work and work with others to meet deadlines and desired results
- Inspire trust and work with integrity and ethically

Compliance Officer

Key Accountabilities for the role will include the following:
- Maintaining a system of supervision that adheres to, tests, and enforces the Written Supervisory Procedures of Packerland, working directly with the various internal departments as well as externally with the Firm’s representatives and OSJ Groups.
- Establishing, reviewing, and maintaining the firm's Broker Dealer policies and procedures in accordance with changing industry regulations, regulatory exams, and Firm testing.
- Providing support for the onboarding of new representatives as well as continued support for current representatives of Packerland through training programs and other educational resources.
- Conducting initial and ongoing reviews, as well as ongoing supervision and monitoring, of all written and electronic communications with the public.
- Work with other Compliance personnel to execute the firm's branch inspection program, including the enforcement of corrective action as well as assisting with the continued development of the process. Some travel may be required.
- Serve as a member of the Product Review Committee, vetting and approving new products as well as conducting on-going reviews of previously approved products.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education

Experience

Required: Series 7, 24, 63
Preferred but not immediately required: Series 65 or 66
